DR. TODD FRIEDLAND
graduated from Cornell University in 1972. During his first six years as a veterinarian, he worked and studied under some of the most respected veterinarians in the Long Island, New York area. He fulfilled his childhood desire to live in a small New England town when he purchased the North Windham Animal Hospital in January of 1978. He has built the former 4 room country practice into a well respected, high quality, 3-doctor hospital, providing the best in veterinary medical advancements, client service, sophisticated medical and surgical skills, and community involvement.
"I have grown to enjoy all aspects of pet care, but my special interests now lie in getting you off to the right start with your puppy and kitten through early and proper counseling, and spending that extra time with pets as they get older. Geriatric medicine is one of my greatest pleasures."
In addition to his work in the clinic, Dr. Friedland served as President of the Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association in 1987, served as CVMA
Legislative Chairman from 1988-1999, and as consultant to the Pet Industry
Joint Advisory Committee from 1994-1996. He is a member of the American
Veterinary Medical Association, Connecticut Veterinary Medical Association
and Connecticut Academy of Veterinarians.
Dr. Friedland is an avid bike rider and spinning
instructor, and enjoys cooking, gardening
and model railroading in his spare time He
resides in nearby Mansfield with his wife, Mona,
dog Pepper, 3 cats, Max, Mustafa and Henry, and his huge fish tank with 7
unnamed fish.

Irene Woodward ,
D.V.M. has been a member of the North Windham Animal
Hospital team since October 2008, she brings with her over thirteen years
of experience and continues to enjoy the ongoing relationships she has
developed with area pets and their owners. A graduate of The Ohio State

of general medicine for dogs and cats as well as a wide range of surgical
procedures, an area of veterinary medicine in which she has a special
interest. Irene believes that the optimum health and best quality of life
for our pets depends on a close working relationship between veterinarian
and owner, and so she strives to maintain clear and ongoing communication
with those she serves.

(now grown), Irene lives in Manchester with her husband, a history professor
at the University of Connecticut, Pounce de Leon (His Royal Catliness),
Gracie the Wonder Dog, and the newest addition to the furry family, Ping the

Gretchen and Juno
Gretchen it was and Gretchen it is!
The response to name her was great, but the name Gretchen was the overwhelming
winner.
Special Thanks to Everyone who sent in their choice of names.

We adopted a
friend for Gretchen, a 3 Yr old Husky/Malamute Mix who we named Juno.
He was left tied to the local dog pound fence
a few weeks ago and no one adopted him because of his
size, (over 100 lbs). Around here, that's the death
sentence, so we took him. Both dogs play and
get along and as you can see....Gretchen looks up to Juno as her
protector.
